How Master Plan, Strategic Plan, and Other Plans Work Together

The campus master plan illustrates an ultimate vision of the University well beyond the 10-year outlook as mandated by the District of Columbia. It looks forward to what the University’s ultimate build-out may be 20, 30, even 50 years from now so that, as opportunities for growth present themselves over time, they are implemented in a thoughtful and cohesive manner.

The priorities of implementing the master plan will be set forth by goals and objectives of the strategic plan, a document that is currently being developed along a parallel schedule. The strategic plan will set the course of what CUA wants to become and the master plan will show potential solutions to physically achieve that vision.

Furthermore, two additional plans will spring forth after the completion of these two important initiatives: a financing plan and a development plan.

The combination of all four plans will provide CUA with a robust well founded roadmap towards the future.
